I don't have any problems with the newest release 0.9.45. I'm running Gentoo and proprietary NVidia drivers. I think the inverted screen issue may be a driver problem. I would try reinstalling your video drivers. Can you get any other 3D games to run under wine? or maybe opengl games? If it's just EQ, give me a copy of your eqclient.ini file and the settings you're using in winecfg.
