I have stuck with an older version of wine because it ran everything
wine-compatible that I needed and didn't give me any trouble, but the
newest WOW update won't even let me into the log in screen and the only
fix I have found and not tried is to switch to a newer wine version
(although that seems to be crashing a lot for people, but that looks
more like a WOW problem than a wine one).
I'm not having luck finding anything online that gives me clear-to-a
linux-newbie instructions for how to change versions. Can anyone point
me to something? I found some instructions on the wine-wiki but ran into
trouble getting them to work, all I could find on the Ubuntu forums
stayed with the older versions in the repositories.
Also, should I be using the absolute newest wine version or is one
slightly older more stable?
