I can't really say anything enlightening on this subject, but:
It seems very strange that Steam should go poking around in another
processes memory. Do you get this error all the time, or only on
crashes?
The deadlock below that can be caused by a dozen of things. Timing
problems are common culprits, and there's no solution I know of.
