That's a curious statement.  It seems that someone working for the
SUSE-Linux project has done just that, with a "wrapper" that appears
to use Wine libraries to grab wireless-Lan and modem drivers
distributed by laptop manufacturers for use under Linux.

The next Time I get a Linux system up on my machine, I intend to copy
the WLAN and Modem directories from my c:\SWSETUP directory and run
setup.exe under Wine to see if I can capture the drivers.
