Thanks for the reply, Daniel If that message doesn't come from wine, then I presume the message comes from TaxAct, since I have several Windows programs running successfully under the same system and procedures. Many Windows install programs offer the option of immediately starting the program after the install concludes. As I noted above, when I chose this option with TaxAct, the main program ran flawlessly. It was only when I ran the main program directly that the error was generated.
