I have another idea. As you can see from the backtrace, I'm using a x86_64 generated X server. But the Mandriva RPM that I found on Sourceforge is a 32-bit package. I don't know anything about the protocol between a client and the X server, but could it be that the architecture mismatch is the origin of the problem ? I will try to generate the new version 0.9.32 on my computer.
