Yeah, the old machine was a dual PII running at 200-300Mhz. And I suspect that only one cpu is really used playing Heroes3. It seems something like 10 - 20 times slower under wine. However, that particular machine is getting near to retirement and we are only using it for Heroes, because my office is too crowded to hav two people playing hotseat. I will be moving shortly and have a lot more space in my office, and we will probably be getting another computer in the not too distant future, so I don't think Heroes3 will be a problem in the long term. Speed ups for some other games I would like to play under wine are still welcome though.
