Short and easy answer: CVS has the latest tree. git is another way to access the same tree. wine-patches is for the adventurous. Longer answer: CVS and git both give you access to the same source tree, which contains the latest official wine sources. If you write a patch for wine, you submit it to wine-patches. It then may be accepted and merged into the official sources. Alexandre is the person who decides what goes in and what not. Alexandre has also been on vacation for more than a month and has just recently returned. Naturally, he has quite some catching up to do.
