My multiple user is not needed but was set up at installation, I've
tried deleting the other user but the directory remains in Pmail.

And running under wine still asks for the username.

I'm not sure you can actually return to single user mode once multiple
has been set up. In my pmail folder I have mu user folder but also
have a file named PMAIL.USR which has the following one line entry;

A;Geoff;Geoff Lane
