Hi Gabriel, sorry you didn't get any replies. For what it's worth, Wine should never be able to hang the computer; if it does, it's an operating system bug. However, Wine certainly has its share of problems. Have you tried a more recent version of wine? wine-0.9.3 is pretty good. If you're still having problems, I'd love to hear about them; maybe you should bring them up on the wine-devel list, since you're a developer (albeit not of wine itself).
