Here's what I usually do: * rename my .wine folder * "make uninstall" current install of Wine * use "wineinstall" on new version * test * if it doesn't work, "make uninstall" newer version * use wineinstall to reinstall previous version * delete newerer ".wine" folder, and restore previous one It's pretty clean and quick to reinstall previous version since it's already been compiled.
