I have been having a problem with dsound. It will not recognize my sound card in Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. I have been looking at the config file in the dsound area but I am unsure of what to change or even how to change it. This is the error message trace:loaddll:load_builtin_dll Loaded module L"c:\\windows\\system\\dsound.dll" : builtin err:wave:DSDB_MapBuffer Could not map sound device for direct access (Input/output error) err:wave:DSDB_MapBuffer Use: "HardwareAcceleration" = "Emulation" in the [dsound] section of your config file. This is my sound card Intel Corporation 82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) AC'97 Audio Controller I have tried to use a native dll of dsound but that did not work either. Are there any other options for the HardwareAcceleration variable? I have tried any other games to see if this is a widespread issue or just a certain game issue.
