Has anyone ever tried to run maxtor's "powermax.exe" program, that attempts to determine if a drive is having problems prior to RMA, under wine?
I haven't tried any such software under WINE, but I'd be very surprised if it worked. I've used something similar from Western Digital, and it required a lot of very low-level access to the drive that WINE under Linux might not be able to provide.
What happens if you try it?
