Don't give up so easily! Google your errors (exactly as they appear) :) The error you read said (exactly): "This application is requesting an ActiveX browser object but the Mozilla Active X control is currently not installed Do you wish to download and install it?" Googling the first line shows several promising hits, but most of them are deadends or involve installing IE6 under Wine (not that hard now, but only if your online under Linux). But theres also an archived wine-devel topic titled "MSCMS: new dll" that discusses adding the very message you saw. Scrolling down in the message you can read in the code that it tries to download a file. Picking the only URL in the patch in the message suggests that if you download: http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/MozillaControl16.exe And install it under WINE (I'm sure you can get files between linux and win :), then you'll be set. I notice theres also a newer version available which may or may not also work: http://www.iol.ie/~locka/mozilla/MozillaControl171.exe Of course the better solution is to get your internet connection and winmodem working under Linux. I'm doubt you'll find it really that hard. - Ender On Mon, 2005-02-21 at 21:04 -0500, RLLOYDNAVE123@xxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: > I purchased H&R Block Tax cut Deluxe to do my 2004 taxes. > > I decided to give The Feb 2005 version of Wine under Fedora 1 a try > before rebooting my machine to Windows and actually starting to work > on my taxes. > > Wine seemed to install Tax Cut with out any problems. > > However, when I tried to start Tax Cut 2004 , it complained that > Mozilla did not have an > active X Browser and offered to go on line and get one. > > Unfortunately I have a WinModem and dial up connection with WalMart > that only supports Connection with windows.
