I purchased H&R Block Tax cut Deluxe to do my 2004 taxes.
I decided to give The Feb 2005 version of Wine under Fedora 1 a try
before rebooting my machine to Windows and actually starting to work on my taxes.
Wine seemed to install Tax Cut with out any problems.
However, when I tried to start Tax Cut 2004 , it complained that Mozilla did not have an
active X Browser and offered to go on line and get one.
Unfortunately I have a WinModem and dial up connection with WalMart that only supports Connection with windows. So that seems to be the end of my attempts to do my taxes with Linux for this year.
Perhaps things will work better in 12 months when I try again next year.
Well I doubt that it will change much unless you get another (real) modem or you current one is suppored through linux, since wine does not provide that support, nor are ther plans to do so.
To see if there is a chance to get you modem working with linux check out this site. (slow development but still active)
