Hello all,

I've just installed Wine 20040813 on a Linux Computer (SusE 9.2) without a Native Windows environment. I've installed a few Windows software programs and things seems to be ok for the most part.

One of my Applications will not run if I call it using wine direct from the shell command line. If, however, i frst call 'winefile' and then start my application from there, it works without a problem.

My config file is the default config file.

Any Ideas ?

Thanks

Hi, Andy--

First of all, what is the application?

Secondly, not to be "flip" but... just start the application with winefile. Meaning, why is this a problem? If your application is "special" in some way (as many applications are), perhaps this is its normal functioning (especially since it works without a problem when started in this way).

Without knowing what it is, it's hard to know one way or the other whether this is 'normal' or not.

You might also consider upgrading Wine.. you're using a 6-month old version, and 20050211 is available. Perhaps it will solve the issue, if this is in fact an issue (given that the program works perfectly when started with winefile, it may not be).
