Re: [Wine]clobbered config file

Hello all,

I am the dumb wine user since the 16 bit version in 1997. I have been rolling forward by configuring, making, and installing wine from the tar...gz almost monthly since then. While not entirely error free this approach works across several system types and release level. However I have lost track of the 'additional features' such as WineTools.

Does this tar contain WineTools? If so where are they?

If not, where are WineTools?

Thanks,
Dan

You can just do
cp /usr/local/winetools/config.new ~/.wine/config
to recreate the WineTools configuration.

Does winetools also back up any existing config file? That might be
useful too.

WineTools brings it's own config files. After performing Base setup
WineTools uses only it's own files. If you change them they will stay
changed (until you delete them ;-). There was an error in 2.0.9 that
could lead to an empty config if you choose to edit it and close the
editor window by the window manager buttons (not the ones provided by
the application). That error is fixed.

	Joachim
