Hi Scott, it would be very nice if a suitable config file could be included in the binary package (and not only in the source package) as long as winecfg doesn't create one. For now I use my old config file from the last Debian version. That is why I like the officail Debian packages: I copied the skeleton files to my home directory (cp -r /usr/share/wine/skel/* ~/.wine) and had a "out of the box" working configuration that is a good start to begin with.
