This fix only touched 6-7 files, so my first silly experiment was to print the file. After 100 pages it basically when in the recycling bin. I think asking for some help from Alexandre is going to be needed, but before I went there I thought it best to do my homework. I've now created two parallel directories - good-20040524-20:00:00 and bad-20040524-21:00:00. I've just set up xxdiff so that I can view the good and bad files against each other. The first couple that I looked at are actually not large changes. I hope they give me some clues. My thought is to set up a 3rd directory called 'test' which would use the bad directories code but patched to attempt a fix. Does this make sense? I've also tried to catch some failures using the instructions in the regression guide as well as the info in the bugs.sgml file. It's interesting that while EVERY VST I run fails with a segfault, so far none of the files catch a consistent failure. I'm hoping that when I get 3 or 4 of these captured, along with understanding some of these file differences a bit better, that Alexandre will take me seriously and pay attention. Unfortunately there is no list for jack_fst and the developers barely respond. Torben has been pretty good. I get a short message once a day from him. Paul Davis hasn't responded to anything. He's just gotten married and is trying to get Ardour released so I think he's not motivated to work on this right now. Your help has been key Duane. Thanks very much for all of it so far.
