Ivan,

Thank you for your reply.

The documentation refers to 'winecheck'. There is no winecheck in 20040505. Is it still available??

There is a documentation dir in /wine. How is this read?

Thanks,
Dan

1. where is the current doc?

http://www.winehq.com/site/documentation

2. what tools are available and needed to read it?

You can read it with your web browser, or acrobat reader, or a text editor.

3. how can the registry be created?

IIRC Wine should create for you when you run it for the first time

4. how can it be tested?

A common test is to run the wine notepad

5. is there still a tool to check the config file?

I don't understand what you mean with "check" the config file. If you mean the
syntax, Wine checks it every time you run it.

Ivan.
