Hello all.
I just recently started using Linux as my primary OS and have just started playing with Wine in order to help ease the transition (so I can still use Word a few other apps). I'm having trouble installing Office 2000, and I was hoping someone could help out. I've read around, Frank's World included, and have limited success getting things to work. First I tried Frank's suggestion using the Portage Wine version in Gentoo (200401??). The install created errors at about 85%, but the applications ran alright. I was most happy. Now, however, I am trying to get Office 2000 to work with WineX 3.3.1. ~ Instead of crashing at 85% (roughly), it just hangs. If I abort the install, the programs don't work. I know this isn't exactly the right place for WineX questions, but since the two problems appear to be at least slightly related I was hoping someone might have some insight they could share.
Thanks for any help! -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org
