Hi Mike,
 
I have to use Acrobat for windows because Acrobat can do things that acroread 
can't. Especially editing pdf.

I can't explain your error, but am wondering why you
are using wine?  You can download adobe acrobat reader
from www.adobe.com already built to run under linux...
