What is Redhat Fedora?

What is the release number please??

FYI, it's called Fedora Core 1 / Cambridge
and I'm using test release 2 (codename Severn).

That doesn't make much sense if one hasn't been following Redhat news lately (though this has been some hard-to-miss news).

Dan, RedHat Fedora is a very recent fork of RedHat. Only a couple of weeks ago, in fact. (Massive oversimplification to follow) When RH announced that they were getting out of retail and restructuring their distribution model, Redhat Fedora was introduced as the community-driven "home desktop" distribution, while RedHat Enterprise will continue to be developed for the corporate market.

Hey, I said it was a massive oversimplification ;-). More information can presumably be found at the Redhat site, or probably at DistroWatch at www.distrowatch.com. Hopefully somewhere along the trail one could find some indication of the differences between Fedora and RedHat-as-we-have-known-it, in order to give knowledgeable people a clue as to why Wine might not build.

Hi!
I get this error when I'm trying to compile wine 0911 release on Red Hat

Fedora (with gcc-3.3.1-5) using the tools/wineinstall script.

Can someone please tell what is wrong? I could't compile last month's wine

either. There was a segfault at the end of the installation process, when it reached some "wine registry".
