I tried to install the DirectX 8.1 SDK and got an MSI error about a missing entry 222. I dumped an msi.dll and added the missing functions to the spec file. I couldn't find any info about this function so I quit. Using a real dll let the installation get further but it complains about the windows version regardless of how I set it. Here is the spec file patch:
