I've tried to compile wine-20030709 on MacOS X with 'make depend && make', and get this compile error:

Before trying to address that error, are you aware that Wine will not allow you to run Windows programs on MacOS?

Pierre d'Herbemont have had some success on that: http://www.winehq.org/hypermail/wine-devel/2003/07/0326.html

I think you misunderstand what he was doing. He was able to compile and run Wine's version of mine, winemine. Winelib will theoretically allow you to compile and then run applications written for Windows on another OS, such as MacOS, as long as you are running an X server (which apparently can be done with MacOS).

But that requires that you have the source code. Wine does not allow you to run a binary that was compiled for X86/Windows on a none X86/Windows computer. Again theoretically, it might be possible to run an X86 emulator under MacOS along with an X server, and then run Wine on top of that. Probably a project that is not for the faint of heart ;)
