Hi, I'm a newbie to Wine. I run Mandrake 9.1 and have just downloaded the latest Wine RPM. It seemed to install fine, so I installed XaraX, my favourite graphics application (one of the few Windows programs I can't find a reasonable Linux substitute for). First tests worked fine: there are a few glitches (like being unable to access the web from XaraX - causes a access violation and crashes the program), but all the basic operations worked beautifully. The problem started when I wanted XaraX to access the wide range of TTF fonts I have on my system. How do I do this? I tried to add a FontDirs section (I saw that in some documentation on the Web) pointing to my (various) font directories, but when I try to start XaraX then, it complains that it cannot find its own Xarafont and refuses to start. It advices me to install it again from the original Xarafont.fon file (which is stored in the XaraX directory). I have no idea how to do that: I tried "wine control" but that doesn't seem to do anything - no control panel popped up. Questions: - anyone running XaraX under Wine? - how do they make XaraX access all the TTF fonts? - did anyone solve the web-access crashes in XaraX? Any help is appreciated.
