Note: I'm using gmail, no idea how to set this to plain text. Anyways... Well speak for yourself, too. Come on, be serious, it's 2017, again. I highly doubt you're on such a bandwidth-constrained environment (unless you're in Africa or somewhere else where there's barely any internet access and you have to deal with a 56kbps modem), where it would make sense. The argument of "propietary markup languages" (which, to let you know, are a standard now, including the RFCs that handle this very email conversation and your beloved mailing list) has no place in this century. I'm happy to know you have all your emails neat, indexable and searchable. Forums are, too, if you use a good software. I'm very fond of VBulletin, PHPBB and SMF, which also have nice search features if you know how to use them. To be honest, this mailing list has been just spam for me. There are rarely any useful emails nowadays, just people complaining why something doesn't work for them and then disappearing without any useful conversation whatsoever. I've seen more important stuff and useful information in a forum than in a mailing list. Also, it's public for the world to see, and you can see all the previous threads if you want. Try navigating a mailing list browser, now that's an example of a clunky interface. It might look clean, but you have no idea where you are currently at in the same thread. You are used to it, 80% of the world isn't, they got better tools. I'm sorry if this offends you or anyone else in the list, but that's the truth. Best regards.
