Re: Any 16 bit Database Programs work under wine?

Actually the motivation has been to run Office and similar apps perhaps while alternatives get created. Games didn't come into the purview of Wine till at least few years into the project starting with WineX which eventually got forked (Cedega and Cider) and the original sources were merged into Wine officially.

For the apps you mention there is virtually no good reason to run the Windows versions of those on Wine when they can run natively.

Therefore, I am looking for some history to see if any of the MS Windows 16 bit apps, most of which are sitting on my shelf collecting dust, work reliably under Wine. The motivation of Wine seems to be running games, or running MS apps that have excellent similiar programs running in Linux (Firefox, Thunderbird, LibreOffice, Gimp, Scribus, more that do not come to mind now(, already.
