You're right, the FAQ lacks an entry like "Where does Wine store my files?" The closest it comes is http://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ#head-faf9617c53607e583f6e6ff70a4ac9522d490faf This question has come up before, see http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=7730 Do either of those help? (I think ~ is /Users/yourusername on Mac, so wine should store your C drive at /Users/yourusername/.wine/drive_c. But I don't have a mac, so I'm not sure.)
