I started developing Swine in 2005 with some friends when I wanted to have graphical frontend for wine. I am not sure if POL existed at that time, at least I was not aware of it. I think POL is more focused on installing software that needs a special setup while the focus of Swine is more on exposing existing wine tools in a GUI. Anyhow, I wanted to publish Swine so users can choose.
