Hi panska, sorry to hear that things didn't work out for you. Maybe you can try another linux like opensuse or an older or newer Ubuntu. The question would be, why things stopped working, it might be interesting, if a non-up-to-date Ubuntu 11.10 (maybe installed from an "old" dvd etc) might get your games working again. On the other hand, I could understand if you didn't want to invest more time into that issue.
