What distro do you use and what model is your Nvidia card? Also, use the latest development version (1.4-rc1), and the latest nvidia drivers? On my side, in wine 1.4-rc1, Arch Linux X64 and nvidia 290.** drivers, the GOG version of Fallout 2 with the community patch works flawlessly.
