Hi,

I cannot install dcom98 with wine 20030508. I see message " a newer version of DCOM95 or DCOM98 had been installed...". Does this mean wine
doesn't need dcom installation ? I'm runing wine in LM 9.0 with fake
windows. I installed 50comupd.exe without a problem.TIA

I get the same error, but I found a workaround:
Start the DCOM installer. When you get the error message don't click 'yes' but open a new terminal window and go to wine's temp directory. There you will find a directory called IPX000.TMP. Copy all the files in that directory to the system directory of your fake windows drive."

That should work.

Thanks I'll try that. I could open dcom98.exe with WinRar but haven't tried to place files in system dir.
