.deb found on wine.budgetdedicated.com *may* work for
similar/compatible distribs like Debian or Mint (YMMV)

http://www.winehq.org/download may help as a starting point.

I don't know about binary packages, but there's a link there to
tarballs on sourceforge IIRC.
This is somewhat easier than using git to compile a specific version.

Note that you should preferably use a wineprefix for each wine version
used, or might run into (additional) problems.
