I just went to the page for Sims 2 on the Applications Database and could not find ONE bug that was filed for this program.  I realize that Sims 3 does work and that Sims 2 used a Cider wrapper around the Windows code, but if you expect this to be fixed, bug reports have to be filed for what does/does not work along with some additional information (like log files).  I don't know where this program lies in the 'fix this' area as I'm not a DirectX code developer, but it appears problems are related to missing functions in this part of the Windows API/ABI code base.
