Yes thats why I tried running different windows programs that accessed the 
CDROM to make sure it was setup correctly. Since I don't have the source 
code, if its a programming error I will have to give up.

My WINE config file for the CDROM setup reads as follows:

[Drive E]
"Type" = "cdrom"
"Path" = "/mnt/cdrom"
"Label" = "/mnt/cdrom"
"FileSystem" = "win95"
"Device" = "/dev/ide/host0/bus1/target0/lun0/cd"

I just don't understand why it runs OK underwindows. It seems like it should 
be able to concatonate an E to the path ':\mnt\gu\images\gu2.bmp' and go 
about its business.
