The point was that the difference happens in an imported DLL context. First ifrcm60.38 is called; after that, the two branch. Up to this point, everything is more-or-less the same (and I know that "more-or-less" is not exactly the same). The log files are about 400M and 500M for remote and local, respectively. I've spent about 10 hours looking over the two log files, and this is where the two diverge. I suspect full context would be difficult to post to a newsgroup. And I guess that's my question: what should I look for, if the difference in execution seems to happen in an imported DLL? I have no idea how to troubleshoot this, and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Or some new direction, at least. Anyway, I'm persisting.
