Since it began erupting on July 18, 1995, Soufrière Hills volcano has shaped life and posed unique challenges to the tiny UK overseas territory. SHV30 invites scientists, risk practitioners, decision-makers, Montserrat residents, and the diaspora to join in reflecting on lessons learnt from the Soufrière Hills eruption, and similar experiences worldwide, while informing the efforts to build a sustainable post-disaster future for Montserrat.
