The project is funded by the UK's Natural Environment Research Council and is led by Professors Ed Llewellin and Madeleine Humphreys at Durham University, and Dr Hugh Tuffen at Lancaster University. The successful applicant will be expected to undertake laboratory experiments and sample analysis to collect high-quality data that inform on sintering processes in natural and synthetic analogue systems. Excellent laboratory experimental skills are essential, with a preference for experience in high temperature experiments with magma. Applicants should also have experience of analysis of samples using SEM/XRCT/EPMA or similar techniques.
