The successful candidate will be expected to assist with model development and testing, building on an existing python modeling code package that determines partial melt compositions in a decompressing regime, and will work closely with Dr. Lynne Elkins. The initial position is for 18 months. The annual salary is expected to be $60,000-65,000 and includes benefits. The anticipated start date is September 1, 2024. Minimum Required Qualifications: PhD in Geoscience, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline; prior research experience in applied computational methods and coding; and basic understanding of Earth Science principles. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated interest and knowledge about magmatic systems, radioactive isotope tracer methods, porous flow, two phase flow, or chemical diffusion; experience designing and writing code to numerically solve differential equations in applied science fields; and experience with version control software.
