This conference, which succeeds the International Maar Conference, will be organized by the Millennium Institute on Volcanic Risk Research - Ckelar Volcanoes (Chile) and will be held in San Pedro de Atacama (Chile) between the 4th (Monday) and 8th (Friday) of November 2024. The 1st IMC is a multidisciplinary conference on monogenetic volcanism, covering a wide spectrum of topics. These, among others, include physical volcanology, stratigraphy, field geology, geochemistry, petrology, and geophysics of small-volume volcanoes, modelling of volcanic explosions, along with environmental, cultural heritage, economic and hazard aspects related to monogenetic systems and crater lakes (see information below).
