Duties and Responsibilities 1. Teach a variety of undergraduate courses, including introductory geology and introductory labs, introduction to earthquakes and volcanoes, introduction to environmental geology, and upper division elective courses. 2. Expertise in geological remote sensing, comparative planetology, or low-temperature (environmental) geochemistry. 3. The anticipated teaching load for this position is 12 credits (3-4 courses depending on laboratory requirements) per semester Minimum Qualifications Instructor: 1. Masterâ??s degree in geology or related field at time of application 2. Teaching experience at the undergraduate level 3. High-quality oral and written communication skills. Assistant Professor: 1. Doctorate in geology or related field at time of application, although ABD candidates who will graduate in December 2023 will be considered 2. Teaching experience at the undergraduate level 3. Demonstrated record of high-quality teaching in undergraduate instruction and evidence of the ability to teach the courses outlined in this announcement 2. Experience working with a diverse student body or integrating perspectives of indigenous peoples into science teaching 3. Demonstrates a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level and engaging undergraduate students in experiential and place-based learning 4.
