Dear colleagues:

Please consider submitting contributions in volcano seismology and
acoustics to session V025 at the upcoming AGU 2023 fall meeting.

*Session title:* Seismic and Acoustic Signals of Volcanic Unrest and
Eruption: from Source Characterization to Monitoring Applications

*Session description:*

Advances in seismic and acoustic (seismo-acoustic) research have now
substantially improved our knowledge of volcanic systems at different
stages of unrest, providing critical information for eruption monitoring.
However, challenges remain throughout the entire workflow from signal
detection, analysis, and inversion to interpretation of seismo-acoustic and
volcanic source processes. New methods and conceptual models derived from
field observations, laboratory experiments, and numerical modeling are
improving the understanding of phenomena involving coupled elastodynamic
and multiphase volcanic fluid processes. This session discusses recent
advances in volcano seismo-acoustics and particularly welcomes studies
incorporating multiparametric observations such as deformation, gas
emission, and thermal and visual imagery. We encourage submissions
examining advances in instrumentation, data acquisition, machine learning,
and waveform inversion. We highlight research that combines seismo-acoustic
observations with numerical and/or laboratory experiments. This session
aims to assemble a worldwide perspective on volcanic seismo-acoustic
processes from fundamental research to monitoring implementation.

*Invited speakers:*
