Greetings! We are inviting submissions to *AGU Session* *V012, Submarine
Volcanism: Advances in Observations, Methods, and Models*.

*In this session, we aim to bring together the interdisciplinary community
that analyses the deposits and processes of underwater volcanic systems.
Submarine volcanism occurs in a wide variety of geodynamic settings and
dominates the Earthâ??s magmatic budget but the presence of the oceans makes
it challenging to observe eruptive and intrusive events and sample their
products. For this reason, progress in this field is dependent on fostering
community-wide efforts that integrate traditional approaches with
innovative advances in observational, laboratory and modeling techniques.
For this session, we seek contributions that span the full range of
approaches to studying submarine volcanism to provide new insights into
geological, geochemical, and geophysical processes and the resulting
volcanic facies. Newly developed techniques from observational,
experimental, and theoretical studies that produce high-resolution data of
active volcanic systems and enhance our understanding of submarine volcanic
systems and their dynamics are particularly welcomed.*

We are also pleased to announce invited speakers *Shane Cronin* (University
of Auckland) and *Kenichiro Tani* (National Museum of Nature and Science,
Tokyo) who will be speaking on the 2022 eruption of Hunga Tonga-Hunga
Ha'apai and 2021 eruption of Fukutoku Oka-no-Ba, respectively.

Please consider submitting an abstract by the *3 August* (23:59 EDT/03:59
+1 GMT) deadline. We look forward to your contributions and an engaging
session.

All the best,

Kristen Fauria (Vanderbilt University)
Tushar Mittal (Penn State)
Martin Jutzeler (University of Tasmania)
Lise Retailleau (Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris)
