The scientist will join the solid earth geophysics group at the University of Iceland and is expected to run a state-of-the-art research program in seismology with emphasis on Iceland and neighbouring regions. Research topics may include, but are not limited to, earthquake seismology, inverse methods, active seismics, crustal and mantle structure, seismotectonics, seismological monitoring of volcanoes, earthquake prediction. The selected candidate is expected to develop a vigorous, externally funded research program which incorporates the supervision of graduate students, at both the Master's and PhD level.
