Hello again Volcano-L members,

Earlier this week, I sent out an invitation to a talk by Peter Bernath from
Old Dominion University, part of the Cascadia Wildfire and Urban Smoke
webinar series
<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQvQiqeQdTK68OFN6706xECEbxwTpYUpR__;!!IKRxdwAv5BmarQ!azni7u9LdEDZxAJ93kpTqJ1xjar6WoZsRk0u-kIWmq7BQ1eG9ZkBKIsrPii-6noHSzaqLWqO8z0vHm0A$>,
about
the Atmospheric Chemistry Experiment (ACE). ACE is a small satellite
mission conceived by Peter and his colleagues in the late 1990s and
launched by Canada in 2002. As its name suggests, ACE makes detailed
measurements of the chemistry of the atmosphere. Although it was planned to
be a two-year mission, ACE is still operational 19 years after launch. Two
of the primary objectives are delineating the effects of wildfire smoke and
volcanic eruption plumes on the chemistry and physics of the atmosphere.
Peter's talk, which can be found here (https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://youtu.be/09pgebQFHu8__;!!IKRxdwAv5BmarQ!aLIWOH09IoB8kj4_GCvviaiG1gTY6o2mkk9iJOUYtKjchDU5sKZMlxPMMU3GaG6lYEJBxf9n4jLcMLDA$

discusses both of these application areas.

If you would like to be added to the mailing list for the wildfire and
urban smoke webinar series, send an email to jon.fink@xxxxxxx.
