The goal of this Special Issue is to highlight experiences, strategies and multidisciplinary or transdisciplinary methodologies that focus on: â?? Increasing the knowledge about risk perception, social and systemic vulnerability. â?? Cultural and historical aspects of volcanic territories, related to tangible and intangible processes of the society to face and coexist with volcanoes. â?? The elements and processes that led to the social construction of risk in volcanic environments. â?? Risk management between actors and institutions, as well as the communication of volcanic risk, volcanic hazards and the uncertainty associated with volcanic phenomena. We welcome contributions from sociologists, anthropologists, geographers, social workers, geologists, volcanologists, practitioners, psychologists, health workers, risk managers, stakeholder, decision makers among other disciplines who are focused on volcanic risk reduction and socio-environmental relationships. Contributions from NGOs, volcanological observatories, Civil Protection and community organizations or other non-academic fields are especially welcome.
