Three-year post-doc in volcano remote sensing at University of Hawaiʻi at
MÄ?noa

Hello. A three-year post-doc position is available in the Hawaiʻi Institute
of Geophysics and Planetology, University of HawaiÊ»i at MÄ?noa. The position
will be based in beautiful Honolulu.

The position will focus on the development of techniques for the analysis
of volcanic thermal anomalies, primarily in MODIS and VIIRS data sets.


The ideal appointee will have a Ph.D. in Geosciences, or a related
discipline, as well as experience in thermal remote sensing of volcanoes,
using data sets such as MODIS and VIIRS. They will have demonstrable
expertise in the analysis of large volumes of satellite data (with
commensurate computer programming proficiency, although no specific
language is required).


The position will be for up to three years, annually renewable subject to
performance evaluation. Salary will be in the range of $75,000 USD per
year. This position includes paid vacation and sick leave, as well as a
subsidized health plan and pension benefits.
