The workshop will take place from 8 to 11 June 2022. The application deadline is 1 April 2022. The workshop will take place in the form of an AIV School for young researchers and PhD students who want to learn and discuss the applications of paleomagnetism to volcanology. Most of the course will take place in the field, between Vulcano and Lipari Islands (Aeolian Island, Sicily), with a short initial part of theoretical lessons. Please see the complete details below. This workshop will include field trips to Lipari and Vulcano, presentations focused on highlighting the Aeolian Islands geologic history as well as the fundamentals of paleomagnetic techniques and their applications to volcanology with a specific focus on the advancements achieved in this field thanks to the pioneering work of Prof. Roberto Lanza.
