Aloha colleagues,

We hope that you will consider participating in our session on volcanic
volatiles at the upcoming Goldschmidt meeting in Honolulu, HI, (and online)
this summer:

Volatile species are relatively minor constituents of magmas, yet have
great importance for magma dynamics, migration, eruption impacts, and the
transport and deposition of volatile metals. Volatiles influence magma
properties such as density, compressibility, and viscosity, which in turn
control magma storage, transport, and dynamics, as well as eruption
triggering and style. Volcanic rocks provide evidence for mantle volatile
systematics, for degassing processes during crustal transport and storage,
and for the syn-eruptive changes in rheological properties that accompany
degassing. Measurements of volcanic gases during and between eruptions
often provide critical monitoring data, allowing hazard assessment and
eruption forecasting. Once in the atmosphere, volcanic gases may have
severe environmental and climate consequences on a range of scales. We
invite contributions across a wide range of disciplines including studies
focused on modelling, experiments, analysis of volcanic rocks, measurements
of volcanic gases and plume dispersal and on the environmental impacts of
volcanic gas and aerosol plumes.

The abstract submission deadline is 1 March (23:59 CET). All conference
information, including abstract submission links and registration fees, is
included on the Goldschmidt website: https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://2022.goldschmidt.info/__;!!IKRxdwAv5BmarQ!Nb6v6q4220_hGAEZomFMmNO83CVGNaQxTygvGZWXaEl_UvtPJSRmeAEsfYWVjJw$

We look forward to a diverse set of submissions!
